Urmaker Lian
When Urmaker Lian set out to strengthen its Rolex presence online, the goal was to move beyond a closed iframe solution and create a more seamless brand experience. With Rolex’s official design as the foundation, we implemented a refined, fully integrated solution that reflects the brand’s precision and prestige.
Design implementation
Urmaker Lian is one of Norway’s most renowned watchmakers, and one of only three official Rolex retailers. A family-owned company since 1866, Lian has built its reputation on craftsmanship and trust across generations. When the transition to the Rolex Bespoke Light Section was initiated, it was a natural step for OWUP to lead the implementation, building on a collaboration shaped over more than six years.
Creating strong user experiences often begins with the right constraints. In this case, the design framework was already defined by Rolex’s global standards. This left little room for interpretation, while setting high demands for precision. With comprehensive specifications, guidelines, and assets provided, the task became one of execution at the highest level.
The core challenge lay in translating this bespoke design into a structure that worked seamlessly within Urmaker Lian’s existing theme-based platform. In practice, this meant developing a refined, self-contained experience, effectively building a website within the website, without compromising performance, consistency, or quality.

Execution and delivery
The project was executed through a structured sprint-based approach, allowing for continuous progress, testing, and refinement at every stage. Close and ongoing communication with both Rolex and Urmaker Lian ensured alignment, quick clarifications, and precise adherence to brand standards throughout the process.
Despite the complexity of integrating a bespoke solution within an existing platform, the implementation was carried out with control and consistency across all touchpoints. The result is a seamless, high-performing solution that meets Rolex’s expectations while functioning effortlessly within Urmaker Lian’s digital ecosystem.
